Internet marketing is a broad term, but if you are looking for ideas on how to sell more products on your site, gain new visitors and improve your conversions, I can help.
What is a conversion?
A conversion is a visitor who takes a desired action. That could be calling you, purchasing a product, and signing up to win a prize.
Tips for Increasing Conversion Rates:
- Do not over sell your desired outcome. Big flashing red text that reads “CLICK HERE” screams scam.
- Bring real value to a visitor who takes a desired action. A chance to win an iPod is nice, however promotions where people feel like they have little chance to win have very low conversion rates. Instead, if you want a visitor to fill out a form, use an incentive that offers instant gratification. An example of this is a free white paper sent in an email.
- Create many soft links to a page optimized for your conversion. Make the visitor feel like they choose to go to a page, not that they were tricked to going to a page.
- Set an end date to any promotion or sale you run. This shows visitors that the contest is real and not a scam.
- Cut down on the number of fonts and colors used. This makes a page look busy and a busy look causes a negative connotation that will drive visitors away.
